The design of the symbol mark took ameba as a motif to symbolize speech balloon and was expressed by yellow and blue colors to demonstrate that the author’s created world and readers’ imagination put together to sympathize and enjoy as ‘the festival to share imagination.

Festival Character, Mandeok-ei

Mandeok-ei is the mascot of Bucheon International Manhwa Festival, who can cross the border of cartoon imagination. The character design was personalized by the symbol of BI, referring to Korea Manhwa Contents Agency and Bucheon International Manhwa Festival, including speech bubble and ink blob. It is also a homage to Superman, a hero of children and places an emblem-type patch to represent Bucheon International Manhwa Festival on his chest and demonstrate a super hero crossing the border of cartoon imagination.
